How We Can Help
'A Funeral Is Not A Day In A Lifetime, It’s A Lifetime In A Day'
When you need to arrange a funeral for a loved one who has passed away, our funeral directors are here to guide you through the choice of arrangements to ensure the funeral is a fitting tribute to your loved one's life.
We can assure you that the funeral will run smoothly. We work closely with everyone involved, managing all the small details, completing the paperwork whilst providing support throughout to you and your family at this difficult time.
Guiding You Through
We take everything at your pace and will tailor the funeral to your exact wishes and needs. We will let you know the range of options and their costs so you can decide what is important to you whilst maintaining control of your budget throughout the process.
You will deal personally with Chris, Joanne or Helen throughout the time that you engage Hardy’s services. With a very ‘’hand’s on’’ approach to supporting you, your designated Funeral Director will be personally responsible for all that you ask them to do from organising the funeral service to ordering flowers and catering.
Helping you choose the type of funeral you want
Hardy’s Funeral Service will work with you to decide what funeral is right for your loved one.
Here are a few of the questions to consider:
- Did your loved one leave any requests or wishes regarding their funeral?
- Did they tell you if they wished to be buried or cremated and where they would like the funeral to take place?
- What style of funeral? Traditional or contemporary, religious or non religious, formal or informal, traditional hearse, horses, flowers or no flowers?
- How do you want to make the funeral individual, to reflect the character, values and beliefs of the person?
- After the funeral, do you want to go straight home or to a venue?
- What are your thoughts regarding the ashes, memorial masonry and memorial gifts?
Once we know the answer to these questions we can guide you through the process.
Funeral cortege, coffins and ashes caskets
The other important choices to consider are the finer details of the ceremony, the funeral cortege and the style of the coffin. If the commital will be by cremation, you may also wish to consider a casket or scatter tube for the ashes.
Floral tributes can range from simple but effective sprays through to a very personal display of love for the deceased. We can suggest a range of possibilities to meet your needs and budget, incorporating favourite flowers and colours. It may be the wishes of the deceased that friends and family do not bring flowers, but make a donation to their preferred charity. We can help you organise the collection of donations.
A lasting memorial to the deceased can range from a gravestone at a cemetery to a small commemorative plaque. It is worth taking time to consider how best to honour your loved one, you do not have to rush in to this before the funeral.
To help you plan the funeral style you want, we offer a standard funeral service at a fixed price. This includes everything you need to create a dignified funeral, without the extras you may not want. The additional services we offer can vary in price substantially and we will give you a guide to what these will cost so you can decide what is important for you and control your budget.
We manage our business costs carefully and keep our overheads low, so we don't have to pass on any unnecessary costs to you. Our prices are published on our website because we believe (and our clients tell us) it takes the worry out of choosing which funeral director to call.
